do you think antigone wants to die?

I think the verb is wrong here when one thinks about the story. She knows that death may result if she defies the orders of the king; she also knows that the gods can be very unforgiving when their laws are disobeyed which could also result in death. However, she was willing to risk any kind of death because she wanted to do "the right thing." When she chooses to take her life, we believe that she chooses not to live and die a miserable death that would result from being starved in a cave. Does she want to die? No. Is she willing to die for a "cause?" Absolutely.
