Why should antigone be taught in school?

You have to think about what benefits an education would afford Antigone. What differences would the ability to read and write make in Antigone's life? Would she be reading for pleasure? That would have been possible. Writing letters? This would open communication! The ability to read and write would also help her to eventually run her own household (ordering supplies and budgeting). In other areas, an education would afford her nothing. Women of her social status didn't work in business, and their opinions were for the most part ignored.
