The railroad will not hire Mexicans for anything other than laying the railroad tracks or digging (Physical labor).

Esperanza Risings a great book Julie. Good choice. I read this in 6th grade in fact and I don't remember anything that happens except the train part, and the girl who wanted to touch Esperanza's doll, but won't let her. *Sad Face.*
