Is McKay's campaign a "triumph of style over substance", Why or why not?
This is about the movie "The Candidate" that we recently watched in P.I.G class.

Yes, I believe it is. McKay's campaign is a sham and from the start his liberal views make his winning the campaign almost impossible. Suddenly, his father steps to the forefront and endorses him.... and bang........ McKay's a winner. It sounds a little to me like the substance of McKay's campaign would have lost it for him...... but the style of his eventual "support" eventually put him over the top. Unfortunately, his reaction wasn't as stylish as his win.... McKay asks Lucas, "Marvin ... What do we do now?" Sounds like there's not very much substance there to me!
