When is the virtue of courage best exemplified?

Since courage has to do with right action between the vices of cowardliness and recklessness, Aristotle says that war is the paradigm case for understanding whether or not someone is courageous. This is because, unsurprisingly, that war inspires fear to an extremely high degree in most people.
