Which vice is more natural to human beings—prodigality or meanness?

Although Aristotle observes that there are plenty of examples of both prodigality and meanness, he says that the latter is the more natural to human beings. Prodigality, for Aristotle is more of a childish trait that can be overcome with training and care. Meanness, however, seems to be an almost inescapable consequence of old age.
