How does Ayn Rand use the marriage of James and Cherryl to make her point against social philospohy?

Rand makes her point about social philosophy in her depictions of the wedding guests. The wedding is enormous, but the guests list seems to be based upon the "looter's world" rather than what we would imagine should have been friends and family. The guests at this wedding illustrate Jim's power. They're either people who attend as a favor, or people who attend out of fear. Nice way to start a marriage.......
