What relevance do you think the Glass Menagerie has for today's readers and theatergoers? Why do you think the play has retained its popularity?

The Glass Menagerie has tremendous relevance it today's world. Amanda is a single parent. Shelives in denial that her daughter has a disibility, and in turn her daughter crawls inside of herself. Tom doesn't want to play dad, but he has to; he doesn't get along with his mother, and how could he? It's always been about him meeting her needs....... a little role reversal.
