How is Beowulf structured?
Beowulf is structured into three separate sections. Each of these sections details Beowulf's fight with a different monster or foe, as well as a different moral challenge by which Beowulf is summarily tested in regard to the hero's code. The moral challenges faced by Beowulf are as follows; Grendel (reputation for Beowulf and revenge for Hrothgar's men ), Grendel's mother (vengeance on the part of the mother who has lost her son), the dragon (destiny).
