How pagan heroism changed into chivalric heroism in English Medieval Era?

Pagan heroism, in which, we read about the otherworldly accomplishments of "epic" heroes focused on great feats of bravery and heroism. The Medieval Period, however, focused on the romantic heroes.... it is filled with heroic acts, but it also speaks to love, chivalry, and honor.
