What do Beowulf and The Iliad have in common? What themes do they share?
Beowulf and The Iliad are both epics; they are both written in verse; and they both speak to the issue of paganism (although Beowulf is first and foremost a Christian text). Both texts also contain mythological creatures.
Themes shared by the two texts would include loyalty and honor.
