Beowulf
What is the oxymoron in lines "304-306"? Explain it.
"And at last I could see the land,wind-swept
Cliff-walls at the edge of the coast. Fate saves
The living when they drive away death by
themselves!"
"And at last I could see the land,wind-swept
Cliff-walls at the edge of the coast. Fate saves
The living when they drive away death by
themselves!"
I think the oxymoron is supposed to have something to do with the living driving away death. While it may sound like an oxymoron, the meaning really is not.
