why does hrothgar build herot?
Why doesnt it collapse when beowwulf enggages Grendel in combat?

Hrothgar built Heorot for the "best and bravest of his men." It was kind of a boys only club house except nicer than the one you weren’t allowed to enter when you were a kid. The hall doesn't collapse during battle because it is built so well, fortified with stone....The collapse of the hall would have symbolized weakness. The subtext would be that these supervikings were more like little boys in a tree house.
8 year olds maybe? No... 10 year olds...
I'm just playing with you. What does COMBAT MEAN IN ENGLISH?
