how does Claudia and Frieda feel about Pecola?

Pecola moves in with the family and caludia and Frieda befriend her and they all become very good friends. They take car of her when pecola father rapes her and leaves her pregnant, the girls plant seeds in hope that the baby will survive. but it does not.
