Lenina spends the majority of Chapter Nine sleeping off the effects Soma. She and Bernard are staying on the reservation.
Over the course of Chapter Nine, we learn that John is sexually attracted to Lenina. He equates her with Juliet from Romeo and Juliet. John is smitten.
