Brave New World
How is Bokanovsky's Process related to Alphas, Betas, Deltas, and Epsilons?
What parallels do you see in our society?

The Bokanovsky Process involves shocking an egg so that it splits into what could be ninety-six identical embryos, and then develop into ninety-six identical human beings. The Alpha and Beta embryos never undergo this dividing process, which can weaken the embryos. People in society are ranked in five-tiered caste system; Alphas and Betas on top. Alphas representing the intellectually superior group, followed by the Betas, and continuing down to the Epsilons, who have little to no intelligence.
The Director explains to the students that the Bokanovsky Process helps to facilitate social stability because the clones it produces are copied to perform identical tasks. These clones are then used by the State to implement their motto: “Community, Identity, Stability.”
Since the Brave New World was written there have been many notable advances in science. Cloning has become a reality, as has choosing a sex for a fetus before impregnation.
