Huxley's Brave New World doesn't really exist in our world, but that doesn't mean that we aren't heading toward the kind of world he portrays. Like the novel, out society continues to become more materialistic and consumeristic. People in general are far more worried about the MTV reality world than they are about Bengazi or the recent IRS allegations.

Other red flags would be entitlement programs, national healthcare, the interest in entertainment, and the problems in the education system. Are we at the point he portrays in the novel? No, but there are many warning signs if you look deeply.
