The annonymous narrator tells us four stories of Holly. The first; Miss Holiday Golightly, Traveling. This story tells how the narrator met Holly and how they first got to know each other. It unveils her past.
The second is Tiffany & Co., a story about Holly's love of Tiffany's and what it is about the store that gets rid of the "mean reds." This would be feelings beyond sad....... and the feelings she has here make her want a Tiffany's of her own, translated...... a place she belongs.
The 3rd story, Never Love A Wild Thing, the story of her failed marriage and why she'll never return. She's loved, but she doesn't belong, and Doc Golightly presents irony in that up until the last second he believes she'll return home with him. The following quote sums up her feelings about her ex;
That was Doc's mistake. He was always lugging home wild things. A hawk with a hurt wing. One time it was a full grown bobcat with a broken leg. But you can't give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they're strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then the sky. That's how you'll end up, Mr. Bell. If you end let yourself love a wild thing. You'll just end up looking at the sky (74).
Lastly, we have Bon Voyage Oompahpah; Holly's farewel to New York. Her story is sad; she believes herself to have found her very own Tiffany in Joe, and is having a baby. It was all an illusion..... I guess the above quote applied to her as well. The narrator never finds out if Holly has found a home, but her cat has....... and he thinks that maybe she has too. At least he hopes!
