How does Bud fall asleep?

Before Bud can go to sleep, he has to check and make sure all of his belongings are still there.

I did what I do every night before I go to sleep, I checked to make sure everything was there. The way there're more and more kids coming into the Home every day, I had to make sure no one had run off with any of my things.
