Perrault has recently acquired Buck for your dog sled team, describe Buck upon his arrival and the ways he came to adjust to his new environment?
Buck gets his doggy learning curve in chapter 2. He is no longer at his comfy ranch in California (damn that Manuel the gardener!). He quickly sees the social order of the other dogs. He watches Curly's face get ripped open by another dog. He sees Spitz's dominance over the rest of the pack. Buck learns to pull hard and long, "Wot I say?" the dog-driver cried to Perrault. "Dat Buck for sure learn queek as anything." Buck learns how to keep warm in his snow cave and how to survive both the pack and his new masters.
