I don't think it is actually listed in the book. The tone of a book is something less tangible; the tone exists behind and around the words. In Call of the wild, the point of view is mainly Buck's. Buck is a dog. So we get a very literal way of seeing things. Like most of Jack London's writings the tone wild, sweeping and romantic. Although Buck struggles at times there is always the feeling that there is a wild dog just waiting to come out.
