What was his life like there ?

Buck lives a pampered lifestyle at the Judge's ranch in California. He has manicured grounds to roam and eats lovely dog dinners. At the end of the book, Buck stands tall in the wilderness. He is the alpha-dog killing what he wants and mating with as many lady dogs as he likes. Buck, of course has earned his alpha status through doggy blood, sweat and tears.
