After Hungry Joe is declared winner. Why is it ironic that Hungry Joe goes to bed feeling his victory but dreams that the cat is suffocating him?

The drunkards all laugh back until someone points out that the rain has stopped and they will have to fly the mission to Bologna. Amidst all the hubbub, Hungry Joe has a nightmare and screams loudly in the car. He believes that Huple's cat is on his face, suffocating him. Actually the cat is on his face, and Hungry Joe panics. Yossarian tries to officiate a fight between the cat and Hungry Joe, but the cat chickens out and Hungry Joe is declared the winner.
