There are a few different lessons to be learned from Catching Fire. First lesson, politics, class, and race are divisive, both in the novel and real life. Second, women can be role models and often exhibit not only emotional strength but physical strength as well. This includes the fact that strong, decisive, women don't always fall under the stereotypical tomboy category. Lastly, the novel addresses war in all its ugliness. Violence isn't glorified but necessary, governments aren't always reactants but rather willing participants, agendas are real and perpetuated.
