The novel's falling action occurs near the end of the novel when Mr. Wonka’s factory exposes the character flaws of the other children, flaws that result in disaster. Afterward, Charlie, who is the only remaining child, is congratulated by Mr. Wonka, and he is given the entire factory for his family.
