Chaucer's Poetry
Give me the interpretation of each stanza of "Lover's Farewell" by M.Drayton.
please, give me the nice description of this poem.
please, give me the nice description of this poem.
This poem is a classic example of an English sonnet.
The first stanza is an uncharacteristically flippant way to say goodbye to a lover. The second is a reinforcement of this point, saying that the former love ought not to inhibit a future meeting. The third gathers tension for the final couplet, which ends with hope for a love beyond death.
