Civilization and Its Discontents

civilization and its discontents can be read as an extented argument for the claim that 'it is hard for [the human being] to be happy in civilization'

Why precisely does Freud believe that civilization poses insuperable obstacles to human happiness? Does this imply, for Freud, we would be happier without civilization? Why?

we would not be happy without civilization because we need it in order to survive.
