The Superstition & Witchcraft theme in the comedy of errors?

At the start of the play, Antipholus of Syracuse speaks to the possibility that witchcraft is afoot in Ephesus. The first time we hear of his suspicion occurs when Antipholus meets Dromio, who insists that he return home for dinner, something Antipholus is completely unaware of. Antipholus also accuses Dromio of taking the money he was supposed to be deposited, and the two begin to argue, an argument that comes to a head when Antipholus hits Dromio, who appalled and frightened, runs away. When Dromio returns, we come to see that he has no idea what Antipholus is talking about, something that leads both men to believe the city is under a spell, some kind of witchcraft.
