He does not believe, as Sandy does, that the hogs are wonderful ladies who are bewitched. He drives them to a house that is 10 miles away (he has once tried to just let them go); at the house they are welcomed inside and treated like ladies. They are served breakfast at the head table, but ultimately the Yankee gives them away.
