Are Cyrano de Bergerac and Roxanne really cousins?

I was wondering if Cyrano and Roxanne are actually related to one another. Earlier this year I read an article on wikipedia that clarified that they were not actually related. They just playfully refered to each other as cousins. Is there any truth to this?
