What impression do you get of Miss Betsey Trotwood?

Miss Betsey is a pistol. She's opinionated, self-centered, and selfish. Trotwood treats David's mother poorly and stroms out of the house when she has the audacity to have a boy instead of a girl. After that we hear little of Miss Betsey until David runs away to find her. Upon David's arrival, Miss Betsey begins the transformation into the character we know and love. She stands up for David, protects him, and loves him, as well as setting up arrangements for his future.
