Who was miss besty

Miss Betsey is the unusual sister of David's late father. Miss Betsey, or Miss Trotwood, disapproved of the marriage between David's parents because of their significant age difference. She herself had a disastrous marriage with a man younger than she was, and after their mutual separation, she moved to a small house near the sea with one servant and lived a secluded life. She storms out of David's house when he is born, upset that he is not a girl.

Miss Betsey is David's father's aunt. She didn't like boys, so she expected David to be a girl. When she knew it was a boy, she left angrily. Later, she was the protection to David when he grew up; suffering from his silly step-father. So she started as a bad great aunt but with years passing she became a hill of kindness!
