Miss Betsey trotwood is david copperfield's grear aunt on his father's side, & has an unfavourable view of men & boys. She appears in the 1st chapter where we see her uncommon personality & her dislike of boys when she storms out of the house after hearing that david's mother has had a son rather than a daughter to whom Trotwood intended to be the godmother.

According to the story she seems to be a nice person as she says Clara Copperfield not to cry while talking about David Copperfield's father.she told Peggotty to bring tea for clara as she seemed unwell. In the 1st chapter Miss Betsey is kinds towards david's mother.
