The roof line of the house is described as one dimentional under and over the audience sees other apartment buildings. Why do you think Miller chose to represent the home this way.
I think this personifies the sense that home ownership was considered a must for the American Dream. The City, however, towers over the Willy's small home that seems engulfed and disappearing. The same is happening to Willy. The pressures of his job and his failures engulf him.
