Concept of "freedoom" in Death of a Salesman.

One of the major themes in Death of a Salesman is freedom. Willy and Linda experience major economic constraints in their continuous effort to stay financially above board. They feel confined by their debt and limited resources. The mortgage, back loan, insurance installments, and day to day living all put pressure on the couple. Willy's death, and the pay out on his insurance gives him freedom from all of these things too late. The play is all about the American Dream and the freedom we have to achieve our dreams, but for Willy the American Dream was nothing more than an economic trap he couldn't escape from.
