I think that Willy'ssuicide was inevitable, nothing his family could have done would have changed his ultimate decision to take his own life. The boys had to move on and make lives for themselves.... those lives would be unlike their father's, as their father's life was antiquated. Things were changing, and Will was unable to change with the times. Linda, on the other hand, can't seem to make her husband listen. She's patient and kind, but she isn't assertive.... she cannot make Willy understand the reality of their world, or the fact that everything is not the way he sees it.
