Willy tells linda he will buy something for the backyard. What does he intend to buy and what does miller seem to mean by this purchase.
Willy tells Linda he'd like to purchase some seeds and plant a garden in their backyard. This is significant in that Miller is showing us Willy wants to become a part of the world again and do something meaningful, tangible. The thought of a thriving garden might also be seen as a metaphor for his boys...... all grown up and hoping to thrive.
