Act two scene three
For Willy, Ben symbolizes his dreams and fortune, something he gave up to remain with Howard in a regular job, which provided a regular paycheck. Howard has refused Willy's request to stop traveling, and Ben offers a job in which Willy can make money and get out of the city. Willy doesn't get the advice he needs because Ben offers options rather than advice.
