Consider Act 4 sc 1 when the Emperor appeears. Faust speaks in prose suggesting that he is of a lower class to the emperor.

Doctor Faustus is written in unrhymed iambic pentameter (blank verse). Although portions of the dialog are written in free verse (prose).
