Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Do you think a citizen today would respond simarly to a wrong doer the same way Enfield reacted to Hyde's collision with the little girl? Why or why not? What does this say about basic assumptions of how a gentlemen should act in Victorian London?

In today's society, most people prefer to walk away and turn a blind eye, rather than stop to help someone in need. Recent events have even proven that in today's society, atrocities are more apt to be filmed for viewing.... Thus, we can infer from the text that people living in Victorian England tended to help their neighbors and take a proactive stance on events in their neighborhood without being afraid to get involved.
