like if he knows he is dr. jekyll or he thinks he is a complete other person. and if so how much does he know of his thoughts or actions
It is important to remember that these two are the same person. Is hyde aware of Jekyll in him? Probably somewhere but Hyde's "ID" (Freudian term) or dark side is so strong that Jekyll is really not acknowledged. THe two personalities lead separate lives. Certainly Jekyll knows of Hyde and what he is capable of. We learn this in the letter at the end. Unable to control the transformation Jekyll ends his life and hence Hyde's as well.
