Using textual evidence, what does the novella suggest about the relationship between class and identity

Jekyll is expected to uphold certain Victorian class distinctions. He is supposed to be well mannered and behaved man of upper class. Certain social vices like violence and sex belonged to the lower class. Jekyll longed to indulge in these but had to keep up appearances and identity in order to function in polite Victorian society.
