From chapter 2, "Search for Mr. Hyde". Please help.
I know the whole "It offended him both as a lawyer and as a lover" stuff but why ?
The document is an eyesore because Hyde is no longer mysterious beneficiary Utterson is curious about, but rather a fiendish, evil, little man. Utterson initially believed Jekyll to be suffering from some kind of confusion or madness to have made Hyde beneficiary to his estate, but after putting two and two together, he believes the change is a result of blackmail. He believes that Jekyll has something to Hyde, and that the will was made in order to keep that secret..... whatever it might be, safe.
