Is there a conflict in the book East Of Eden? and if so what is it?

The conflict in the novel East of Eden is "good" represented by Adam Trask and "evil," represented by Cathy Trask. It is the classic retelling of Cain and Abel. and it is told incredibly well. Adam, our protagonist is attacked by evil from the beginning. First, by his brother Charles, and later by his wife Cathy. Cathy later becomes the madame of a brothel and continues in her evil ways with the second generation character of Cal. Cal is the bad son turned good. It's a huge circle.............. and it makes for great reading!
