Educating Rita

Rita's husband, Denny, resents her foray into a new world that does not seemingly include him. He isn't happy about the idea of Frank as her teacher or her decision to continue her studies. He also resents that fact that she is taking birth control to delay having a child. Over the course of the play, the couple separates. Note, Denny is never physically present onstage.
