Rebelión de Mackandal

Mackandal, as escaped slave, rebelled against slavery. He raided and burned plantations, and he gave slaves poison with which to poison their masters. Mackandal's rebellion led to the deaths of six-thousand over the course of six years. As a result of the rebellion, Mackandal was captured and burned at the stake. His legacy was later taken up by Toussaint Louverture, who led the first successful revolt against European Colonialist powers.
