How did the townspeople of El Campesino El Mirador protest police violence?

The townspeople, five hundred in total, marched to the city hall in Nogales, where they surrounded the building and demanded the migrants (fifteen in total) be released. Some of the protesters carried rocks and sticks, and the people told the mayor to keep the police out of their town.
