How is belky’s life impacted with her mothers disappearance?

Belky is Enrique’s older sister, who also stays behind in Honduras when their mother goes to the United States. Although sad of her mother's absence, she is determined. She finishes school and stays out of trouble, eventually finding a nice man with whom to settle down. They build a house in Honduras, thanks to her mother sending money for so many years.
