I'm not sure what you're referring to, but his mother did pay the smuggler another $500.00 to get him safely to her. She didn't have a lot of money, so this was a huge sacrifice for her family in America. When she first arrived in the US, Lourdes was able to save a little money and send it back to Honduras regularly, as time went on that changed..... paying bills, new babies,a nd her own need for survival kept her from continuing.
