How does Esperanza demonstrate perseverance throughout the story?

Over the course of the novel, Esperanza successfully starts over financially and socially, but she also makes major strides in her personal growth. She becomes responsible, she lets go of her sense of entitlement, she works hard, and she puts other first. As a character, Esperanza comes a long way.
